Explore our comprehensive and child-centered curriculum that promotes holistic development and prepares young learners for a bright future.
Our preschool curriculum in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and incorporating theme-based learning is a fantastic approach to early childhood education. Here's how RMPS Flying Kids Preschool structure its curriculum to integrate monthly themes with subjects such as English, Math, Environmental Studies (EVS), Drawing, Art, and Craft:
Monthly themes are based on the interests, developmental needs, and cultural backgrounds of the children. Themes include:- Seasons, All about me, Health and hygiene, The world of plants, community helpers, animals and habitats, transportation, and more
English: Integrate language and literacy activities related to the monthly theme. This could include storytelling, reading books, vocabulary building, and language games centered around theme-related concepts.
Math: Incorporate math concepts such as counting, sorting, patterns, shapes, and measurements into theme-based activities. For example, counting flowers, sorting leaves by color or size, creating shape collages, or measuring ingredients for cooking projects.
Environmental Studies (EVS): Explore science and social studies concepts related to the monthly theme, such as plant life cycles, animal habitats, cultural traditions, and community environments. Engage children in hands-on experiments, nature walks, and discussions about their observations.
Drawing, Art, and Craft: Provide opportunities for creative expression through theme-related art projects and crafts. Encourage children to draw, paint, sculpt, and collage based on their interpretations of the theme. This could include creating themed murals, costumes, sculptures, or dioramas.
Provide hands-on learning experiences that allow children to explore, experiment, and discover concepts related to the monthly theme. This could include sensory play, outdoor exploration, field trips, guest speakers, and interactive demonstrations.
The curriculum is designed to accommodate the individual interests, abilities, and learning styles of each child. Offer opportunities for children to take ownership of their learning through inquiry-based activities, project-based learning, and open-ended exploration.
Using ongoing assessment strategies such as observation, documentation, and informal assessments to monitor children's progress and understanding of the monthly themes.
Encourages reflection and feedback from children, parents, and educators to continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the curriculum.
